GB Shuttle VS GK 1001RB

Can anyone speak to the sonic similarities and differences between these 2 heads. Not interested in max volume but tone. I'm thinking about the Shuttle but don't really like the sound of the GK so I guess I want to know if they are similar or different from each other.

Both these amp lines are on the 'bright' side up top. The GK will have a bit more deep low end extension, and the ability to really grind in the upper midrange. The Shuttle 9.2 will be a bit more controlled down low (rounder versus huge low end extension), and a bit more warm in the upper register.

If you have no problem with the size of the 1001RB, I would HIGHLY recommend considering the Genz Shuttle Max 9.2. It is bigger than a micro, but featherweight (under 8 pounds), and the FET channel is warm and punchy. The Tube channel is similar to the Shuttle 9.2, but has much more powerful EQ. The Max 9.2 is 'bright out of the box', but the two bands of semi-parametric mids on each channel, and the wonderful variable voicing filters allow you to get just about any tone out of it that you want.

Bothe the 1001RB and 9.2 would be louder than the vast majority of players would ever need.
