GBE 1200 to Peavey VB2 or 3

Hey, I've got a GBE 1200 going into a schroeder 210212L and 410L. I wanna try the Peavey VB amps, would I notice the difference in volume with the VB-2 or VB 3?

GBE1200 - around 1200W
VB2 - around 200W
VB3 - around 300W IIRC

If you generally use around 200W to play a gig there won't be much difference. If you typically use 400W neither amp will be as loud.

Watts have never really meant anything to me, I was more asking for people who specifically had experience with both amps and could tell me about if volume had been an issue.

I've read all about the technicalities of the tube vs solid state, where SS amps require more headroom to prevent their clipping, and that most people generally don't play at the maximum of their wattage, its just there to prevent hard clipping on those peak notes.

I suppose what my real question should have been is - How do the GBE 1200 and VB 2 or 3 compare in all aspects, volume being the most important.

Obviously theres a huge difference between tube watts and SS watts. I know SS wats vary from company to company some ar way louder than others. But generally I have found that 300 tube watts is about equal to 1000 quality SS watts.
I almost got a VB2 a couple times. but the 200 tube watts just scare me. I had the old 180 watt(tube) Mesa D-180 for a long time and I found I had to overdrive it more than I wanted too.
Some say the VB2 is plenty some say it isnt. If the VB3 is 300 watts then I wouldnt even think twice. I'de get that one. To me theres an enormous difference between 200 and 300 tube watts.

I have a VB-2. With the gain dimed and the master at 4 it is enough to compete with a 100 watt Sovtek and a heavy handed drummer with a large kit. We're adding another guitarist and I can't see going over 5 on the master. It's plenty of volume unless you're in some sort of insanely loud doom or sludge metal band that plays through dimed Sunns or whatever.

It really depends on what cabs you're using. With the ones you listed, I don't think volume will be an issue (even with the VB-2) unless you like to play ridiculously loud.

The VB-2 is 225 watts. I have yet to read or hear someone say it isn't plenty.
