Genz Benz GB 1288T-UQ cab availability?

Sign in to disble this ad

I have seen a few members say that they have these cabs on order, but I was wondering if any of these are in stock for immediate delivery? If so where?

Also what is the current street price of this amazing cab?

Thanks!

They are shipping now. Mine is on the big brown truck.
It will arrive on Tuesday.

They should be in dealers inventory soon if not already.
Check with Greg at Rocket Music or a Genz Dealer near you.

Yes..I was thinking today that when the cabs come we should maybe start an UBER Cab Mega thread... mmmmmm
Just to keep it all together in one area..

I have recently done a few one off shows with Casey James the American Idol 2010 guy... Dont know if he will use me on the full tour next year.. we'll see..
But Im thinking theses cabs will do that gig perfectly. The Uber Quad 1288s that is..
Im doing another gig with Point Blank . They are a southern rock boogie super great guitar player gig..they had a few hits many years ago in Arista and MCA.. Rusty Burns is just smokin guitar player! Did some euro dates with them and Robin Trower last month.. Brought my SHuttle 9 head just in case back-line was iffy.. and the Shuttle 9 was great!
But the guitars kick serious tailend.. SO i will buy a third 1288 to do that gig..

So anyway, when anyone here get s one of the new cabs, maybe a new MEGAthread may help to keep all the Uber stuff together.. just a thought.

I would definitely want to see a new thread on this cab. I'm interested how it pairs with the Shuttle 9, and what kind of punch it has. I'd like to know if it has the deep lows, but still punches in a live mix. I'm thinking of it as a single cab solution. I have been considering a 2x10 (2) cab setup, but this might be a better setup.

That's one I'd almost buy, just to take apart to check the execution. I respect the engineering I've seen discussed by agedhorse.

RocketMusic (also his TB name) has them. Greg (a TBer) is a great guy to deal with, and gives TBers a little bit extra discount. He has a sponsored site on TB. Highly recommended.

And yes, one of the goals of this type of design is to be able to use a driver that really wumps out the low end, since the mids are covered by the mid drivers. These type of executions are typically deep, smooth, refined, which may or may not be good for your tone goals.

FYI, your Shuttle 9 will end up as a smoking puddle of aluminum and plastic on top of a 2.67 ohm stack of three 1288's

Greg at RocketMusic has one, and I think he's put up a clip (VERY good player). Check out the RocketMusic sponsored part or the site. Look for a thread that is title something like 'new Genz Cabs'.

Looks like a VERY nice execution of a three way design. It is a little pricey, but there is a certain beauty to buying a production cab... it has been well tested, and the components that Genz is using seem pretty high end. Nice looking box also, although the weight is a bit much... pretty much the weight of my 410's. No big deal with a cart I guess, and it should be a very nice matchup to the Shuttle 9, which puts out some nice ooomph into a high quality 8ohm cab.

I love that vision... "Smoking puddle of aluminum".
I would use my shuttle max 12 if i used 3 cabs.. Two cabs on one side. and one cab on the other of the amplifier.
I will def need to be more clearly written in the future.

I have 2 on order now.. I'm really thinking this will be more than enough form what i have read so far.
I always think overkill .. I like that extra buffer zone between me an the guitar player I was looking at Rocket Musics demo and thought that i really like the full range sound of these cabs.. Much more in your face than the old aggys that i used. And something that i have been missing.
Looking forward to hearing the low end of these too..
