Genz Benz ML200-112T - opinions?

My local music shop offered me a pretty good deal on one of these, and I'd love to know if anyone else has used one and liked it. It seems like a really nice combo - 200 watts, 12" speaker and a tweeter, warm punchy sound that makes my fretless come through nice and clear. The 48 pounds is a little heavier than I'd like, but it's plenty carriable.

Before I shell out the not-quite-$400 though - I've never used Genz Benz products, are they well built? Will it last well? It's secondhand (obviously, I guess, since they don't make these anymore), but in very good shape.

Genz Benz are great. You should try it first before you buy it. Good luck!

This is one of the predecessors of the current Shuttle Series combos. Although I haven't played the ML200-112T I currently own two of the Shuttles and the preamp voicing seems like it would be right in line with the Shuttle 3.0, which is to say it's really quick and clean with a powerful EQ section. The reliability of my 3.0-10T has been outstanding for me. Absolutely bulletproof, actually. The customer service is also top notch. Called them about a bad tube in my Shuttle 6.0, and Jeff Genzler had one in the mail for me the next day with no questions asked.

As for the price, I don't know about availability of Genz in Canada, but close to 400 seems a tad steep considering what the more powerful and much lighter Shuttle combos are going for on the used market.

In my region - the Shuttle 3.0-10T goes for about $700, well used. Everything costs way more here.

Thanks for the informative reply, it's good to hear general satisfaction with Genz.
