So I'm thinking of getting a 2x12 to go with my shuttle 6.0... One of the bigger music gear chains in Australia is offering this: http://www.musicianswarehouse.com.au...x-2-x-12-600w/
However I noticed the picture looks different to the picture on the GB site for the Neo 212. (Looks like a different grill and the GB badge looks different)
Is this an older model?
thanks in advance |

Those sound like different cabs to me. I'm looking at picking up a Neox212t for cheap (new for $539), but if the new one is better, maybe I should wait? |

Not sure which model is it though: It has a curved grill and a "carpet" type finish. However the one in the pic on the GB website also clearly has a curved grill. The badge on mine matches the one on the GB website, as apoosed to the one in the above link from where I ordered it.
Don't mind either way. it's sweet.
cheers. |

I had the impression that there was a mislisted weight on this cab somewhere on the internets or something, but that could just be my imagination.
I don't know what mine weighs exactly. 60 lbs sounds right.
It's a wonderful cab. It has a strong deep tone with a punchy top end when you turn up the volume. I haven't been using mine much since it doesn't do quiet so very well for my current traditional jazz group, but I have a 210 that gets the right tone at lower volumes for my current work.
The cab sounds so great at medium to loud volumes, though. It's universally well liked on TB, at least by people who have tone goals anywhere near what it does. I like the look of the older ones personally.

cheers. | Right on! I bet the Shuttle sounds great through it. I love what it does with a GK grind, especially with my new/used GK 400rb.

sounds sweet with my shuttle and the high mids turned up a bit, and a bit of O/L on the tube. when i play with a pick it's pretty much my perfect tone for my new band.
I had this rig going on saturday night at a medium sized gig... with my shuttle DI'd to the PA, it was pretty much the **** The bass player in the band playing after us complimented me on my light weight amp as he was lugging in his kustom rig which looked like it was from the 80s. He then offered to help me with my cab... comments of "is there anything in that??" ensued when i dragged it off with one arm while doing a handstand and drinking a beer

Can anyone tell me how helpful are the built-in wheels? Seems like it can be kind of awkward to roll the cab considering the placement of the handles. Also, are there any other issues with the handle placement, i.e., lifting/getting the cab up on stage, going up stairs or through doorways? |

However you have to push it in front of you, which means leaning over a bit if you are tall. Ideally there needs to also be a handle on the back somehow, as aposed to just the 2 on either side, to allow it to be wheeled behind you. |

I think if it had a pull out handle (luggage style) it would be better.. but it sounds so awesome I don't really care. |

There has been some confusion over the weight of the cabinets, but both the old and the new versions are in the low 50s. The new version has been available for a couple of months, but I'm sure some retailers have the old version in stock. Here's the info from the GB site: The GENZ BENZ NEOX Series of bass cabinets receives a sleek new look! These popular cabinets now feature our unique "nubby" vinyl covering along with a new metal speaker grille. This creates a more contemporary look and more importantly, it adds increased durability. Unchanged is the quick transient response, articulate mid definition and expressive finger attack which has been a signature of all models in this series. These high powered cabinets feature proprietary, Neodymium speakers, multi-layer plywood construction, unique ported cabinet designs and compact tweeters for high frequency clarity. Additionally the larger models in the series offer our Edge-Lift handles and tilt back casters for easy transportation.
Available models are the NEOX-112T, NEOX-210T and NEOX-212T. Bob

I'm playing in a production of Rent, and I'm hoping the form factor will make it easier to hear myself without overpowering the actors.
I have a Streamliner900 hopefully arriving later this week, and I picked up an Uber 410 last week. I think I'm set for pretty much any gig now... |

I find mine to be a great compliment to my Uber 410 - nicely done
