Hello,
need some feedback from whoever has experience with BOTH of these cabinets GB NEOX 210 and 212.
I have a 9.0 and a STL210T that I'm VERY happy with, but I just got lots of gigs with a couple of bands where I find my self in the need to go a little 'bigger' and further out in the audience (more throw?), but stay small and light (one cab only).
The STL210T is a custom cab with 4ohms, so no possibility of doubling it (can't spend all the money to buy two extra 8ohms of them)
Thanks in advance....

I'm looking to get some feedback between the above mentioned stand alone cabs….

Still, I did already a search and didn't find much info comparing the two cabs,
that's why I started a new thread…

M | Thought it would, but yeah 'no bueno'.
If you do an advanced search using 'Eublet' as the 'find post by user' and search for the text 'neox-212t', you should find lots of useful info.

I had the 212 and it was a sick cab. I needed a little more of a smoother vintage response and suitability for double bass, so I traded it for my bag ends. But there was nothing about the 212 that was not great.
Folks just don't seem to generally talk about the 210 much.

So, either of these will be a HUGE improvement. The larger neox 210 will give you a much more full, even tone, and a much nicer top end, and maybe 10% more absolute volume than your Shuttle 210.
The neox212 is a VERY nice 212, and performs almost to the level of a good 410. Very mid present and even. However, it is a BIG 212, and would be really a huge difference (both in the schlepp and in volume) versus your little shuttle cab.
If you need just a bit more meat and volume compared to your current cab, the Neox210 might be the way to go. |

Ken, you have a good point. I'm looking to go a little bigger and especially farther than the STL. The little STL210 is indeed a little strange on the highs, but I don't mind down low.
Well, when played 'solo' it might sound… small… but in a lot of stages, with 'natural' enhanced boom or lows, is actually pretty sweet.
BTW, I thought the tweeter, and crossover, were the same in both STL and NEOX (?)
I wish I could compare them…

M | +1 You make a good point that sometimes a cab that sounds a bit harsh and nasal solo can really sit nicely in a mix.
In my 'music store' comparisons of the neox210 and STL210, while the tweeter was probably the same, the crossover seemed quite different... the neox was smoother up top, and had more natural, paper cone sounding upper mids to my ear. Of course, the Neox212 buried them both, but it was much larger.
I'm thinking that neox210 with your 9 might get you just where you need to go without going to a massively large cab.
I would call Genz.... they are very cool about talking with the customer about these differences, etc.
And... as long as I 'have you on the line', thanks once again for that simply amazing Nordy VP5! I like it even more every time I gig with it. |

Glad you are enjoying the VP5, I'm very excited about these basses, especially the ash/maple/NP5 combo. Every time a baby is plugged in for the first time, I get this big smile!
I'm supposed to call Jeff (Genzler) today and discuss the matter… BTW, the NEOX210T has been discontinued, but they can still make them, in case….

M | Cool. That Uber210 is supposedly quite a cab also, although that is a pretty big 210. I have not played one.
See if you can talk him out of an Uber 3 way I think you'd like that a lot with the 9. |

I very like the idea of vertical drivers. Very helpful in tiny/crowded stages... |

M | Awesome, think you'll find it's a great cab. I just stated using one and couldn't be any happier with it. |
