Genz Benz - Official Streamliner Amp MEGA THREAD !

Sign in to disble this ad
I saw the photo of the new amp posted on the Uber 115 thread today.. and I thought it proper to give the new GB Streamliner amp its own domain.
Anyone that has a pic feel free to post

Im assuming the 900 under the streamliner logo means its 900 watts?

If I read the bottom panel correctly, it looks like a more traditional class A/B power amp with multiple tube pre. So, I assume a bit more 'old school' sounding. Looks nice. Can't get a feel for the size.

Roger... post up specs if you can. Looks VERY nice... simple, straightforward. I assume the 900 means something

If this is a more traditionally voiced class A/B amp that is reasonably lightweight (SMPS), with a more classic voiced tube pre, and big watts, they will IMO sell a bunch of these!

Might this be the 'high powered Walkabout' type head many have been hoping for.... just guessing.

this is 900 watts into 8 ohms. ...."D" class. It introduces our "3dPM" circuit: "dynamic power managment" module. Very, very big and punchy. It is voiced, as you say, much more traditionally.

With our other amps, I've often told Jeff that we've never lost a sale because we didn't have enough knobs. I wanted to get to the "other side" of that position.

I likes 'em just a bit heavier, if only to assure that cases, boards, and controls could possibly withstand a bit more.

So is this 900 watts at 8 ohms, no saggie, no draggie? And how does it overdrive? Looks like a killer fEarful choice.

That's what I'm afraid of. I am hoping to try an Uber Quad with a Shuttle 9.0, but I may have to change that up. Unless this is a little too traditional for me. I kinda like a little more modern tone - maybe the 9.0/Uber Quad will do it for me anyway....
