Where did you hear this? Source please.
I don't see why the Shuttles would be phased out, unless to merely update them.

I am confused. Methinks this sentence does not make sense.

Would want to know the source as well! I'm highly skeptical about this, as the Shuttles are some of the most popular amps around, and I'm guessing they're GB's biggest seller.

I'm sure when of the GB guys on the forum will pop up here soon -- hopefully anyways!

I think what he is saying is that IF Genz is refreshing the Shuttle line-up for 2012, he would like two bands of semi-parametric mids instead of the single one on the current Shuttles.

I would love to see a kind of Shuttle/Shuttle Max blend, with the extra parametric mid and the variable voicing filters of the Max, and the form factor of the Shuttle. I guess what I would love to see is Genz basically make a 900 watt Markbass F500

I assume with the sales in the USA and the UK that they have something up their sleeves

I hope so anyway, because now my LM3 has been sent back, I want a super clean solid-state crisp replacement, to compliment my Streamliner 900.

I am tempted to pick a 9.0 up at the sale prices, but then again, the 9.2 Max and the 'potential' new amps are saying 'wait for me' haha!

Exactly. Shuttle with 2 mids. Or parametric low&high.
Or 2 mids & highs at 2 points like the streamliner.

- i hope

Shuttle 6.2 12T combo

There is also much info in the Genz new products for NAMM thread if you do a search. Ed Friedland also put up a very nice review clip of the 6.2 and 9.2

Yeah...I am tempted! Stunning features. Then again, the 6.2 combo or a 9.2 non-Max would be enough for me.

THIS ^ ?

I too am looking for a counterpart to my Streamer 900. The MB800 maybe? Or what 700-1000 watt @ 4 ohm smallish amp is out there to give me a NON-Streamliner tone? I already have a LMII & F1; tho the LMII is packed and ready to ship/sell off if I can't sell it locally. F1 is a keeper.

Genz Benz Shuttle Max 9.2 vs. Markbass F500 with Bergantino AE410 - YouTube

Yes, the Max 9.2 is larger, but it is about the same weight. Per my clip, I can get the FET channel to sound close enough to the F500 to make me quite happy.

The F500 isn't going anywhere... wonderful tone and form factor. However, the 9.2 has more wump, and lots of tonal variation.

To those who haven't followed the Genz NAMM product updates, here is the story.

Shuttle 9 and Shuttle 6 updated to the Shuttle 9.2 and 6.2. The 9 to 9.2 update is subtle, and involves the new power management system (a bit more ooomph), a revised gain section to allow more overdrive if you want it, and a tweak of the voicing filters.

The 6 to 6.2 is more extreme, and in addition to the identical 9.2 updates listed above, the 6.2 low end was fattened and revoiced to sound much more girthy than the 6.0. In addition, the Shuttle 112T and 210T have new drivers and a more substantial low end capability to handle the new 6.2 voicing. Wonderful update.

The Shuttle Max 12 is updated to the 12.2, and is even more subtle than the 9 to 9.2. Basically, just new power management (again, a bit more ooomph) and a new black faceplate.

The Shuttle Max 6 is discontinued, and the Shuttle Max 9.2 and Shuttle 3 and 110T remain unchanged.

Finally, a new line of ceramic but lightweight cabs is in the line-up now, and some lower cost ceramic loaded combo's enter the line-up.

+1 this is why I ended up selling mine,I did like the tone that I could get out of my SM 9.2 but it took alot of tweaking and stars in alignment to get the tone that I was looking for.

I EQ my Max 9.2 a little more than my Markbass heads to get the tone I like, but find it to be not a big deal. However, like any brand, the Genz stuff has its own voice, and if that is quite different from the voice you dig, it might not be for you.

Minor tweaks of the FET channel get me the tone of the F500 set flat. So, no big deal for me.

I do very much like the variable voicing filters and dual semi-parametrics of the Max heads. I was quite impressed with the new 6.2 update though... fat and punchy, and perfectly matched to the T cabs!

Wonder if I can get a 9.0 to sound like an F1 ? BTW, some good deals out there on new/old Shuttles !
