Question Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0 ...Help !

Sign in to disble this ad
I just got a Shuttle 6.0 and also ordered a 2x12 Aguilar 600 watt @ 4ohm. cab. I thought this was a good match as the amp says it will handle 600 watts @ 4 ohms. But after reading the manual it says the 2 speaker outputs are wired paralell. Heres the question ...if I only use one output to connect the cab am I...A. Getting 375 watts instead of 600 because I am only using the one (paralell) output? B. Pushing the Ohm limit because it is 4 ohm from 1 output? Does anyone "Know" for sure and not guessing? HELP!

The parallel outputs would only come into play if you were chaining a cab from the Aguilar (Shuttle 6.0 -> Aguilar cab -> another cab). Since you are not, you would be running your amp at 4ohms and would be within the wattage specs of the cab (600 watts at 4 ohms). As long as you aren't running the amp at full volume, with the gain maxed, I don't see any problems.

The power section of the Shuttle will see the total impedance of either one output or both, so you'll still get potentially 600 watts to one 4Ω cab.

You're fine. The Shuttle 6.0 into one 4 ohm cabinet is the perfect match. You'll be getting all the power out of the amp. Do not add any more cabinets when using that 2x12 however. Then you'll drop below the 4 ohm limit.

The two jacks are on the back of the amp if you want to connect two 8 ohm cabinets.

Smile Thanks for the help .

I can't wait for rehearsal to try this out. I definately like the sound of the 12s as apposed to 10s.
