Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0 Overdrive?

Sign in to disble this ad
Not sure if this has been covered before (I did a quick search using my iPhone). Is the Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0 capable of decent, overdriven sounds?

All the reviews I've seen talk about it being transparent, pristine, clean, etc., which is all fine and good. But, I'm more of a classic rock player (Geddy Lee, Chris Squire, etc.) and not a jazz guy or a slapper. Could I get by with just cranking up the gain or would I need an overdrive pedal?

I've heard you can get some tube bite, but nothing along the lines of that Ampeg growl. It is known for being a clean and transparent amp. Though, I'm sure many people run it through a VT Bass and love it.

The Genz Benz Streamliner is known for being one of the tubiest micros, so if you're into that, check it out!

My GZ amp sings with a SuDecay Supernova Drive infront of it.

It gets decent overdrive but I was never really crazy about the tones I got from it. Everyone's different though and you could love it as it definitely got "fuzzy."
