Genz-Benz Shuttle 6.0 vs GK Gallien Krueger 700RB II

Hi there folks!! first of all say hello from spain to all members of this great forum i just discovered!, ive been surfing it for the last 3 days reading reviews and ****, to hepl my find my perfect amp.

ive been playing bass for 3 years now, but im not very good, as i dont have as much time as i wanted to practice. Ive been on a punk band since the first day i took a bass. I started witha cheap schecter and recently i just bougth a stingray! this is sounding great, but my beringher amp doesnt XD. Im looking for a bright high sound, similar to faat mikes bass from NOFX.

after a few days looking for my amp i found this 2 at a good price. ive read great thing about both of them here, but i want some kind of wxpert to teel me wich is gonna fit better with my punk metal band. On the other side im thinking of getting a Gallien Krueger Neo 412 Cabinet or a Ampeg SVT 810 E Cabinet, cause i have a great deal on both. Would be that a good option or should a i try with 2 Genz Benz NEOX-112T or something like that. What do you think guys? sorry im a newb on this yet, but im learning a lot from you. thanks in advanced for your help. BORAT!

Depends - if you play primarily with a pick and like alot of low end, the 700rb-II is the better choice, IMO... If you primarily play with fingers, and don't need all that much low end, it's a toss-up, since they're both really good amps...

Regarding cabs - they're also both solid choices, so I'd buy the amp 1st, then try both cabs out and see which you prefer... Sight unseen, I'd lean towards the Ampeg 810 over the G-K 412, if I had to go that route - because I know it'll sound good with either head, and get the job done, and *I* typically don't like the sound of most G-K cabs...

JMHO,

I had both of these heads at the same time. I really liked the sound of the Genz better for for playing fingerstyle with my P basses, but the GK had more guts. Ultimately I sold them both and got a Shuttle 9.0.

Good choice.

I own both the Shuttle 6.0 and the 700 RB-II. Both are great but definitely different. I have a slight preference for the Shuttle 6.0 which should pair very nicely with a neox 212.
