Genz Benz Shuttle extension cab assistance

Looking for something to go with my Genz Shuttle 3.08T

I currently have the STL-210 which sounds amazing but just is a little too big for my transportation difficulties.

I have boiled it down to the 8 or the 12.

I am not able to try before I buy so I hope everyone can help me out!

I feel that for the cost the 10 on paper will not add much more than another 8. Even though I know physically the 10 can move more air. Plus the 8 is lighter and will make a great micro stack.

The 12 is a bit heavier and bigger, but I would get the advantage of the added low end and have a nice diverse spectrum with the 8 and the 12.

I am mostly doing coffee shop gigs and church services. If it called for it the Shuttle has great XLR out and I could always use my friend's 8x10 fridge.

Thoughts?

The 12, without question.

Seems to make sense to me. Anyone have any real application with a similar setup?

i agree go 12

i actually have the 3.0-10 combo with the 10 ext cab. everything rocks and its got huge low end, but that's with two 10's. the 8 and 12 will prob compliment each other nicely. i'd like to flip the q? back @ u-- how does the 3/8t alone handle rehearsal with a drummer?

I use my Genz Benz 9.0 with my Mark bass NY 121 and it sounds fantastic - better than my Mark bass Combo 112. The ext cab is light and the sound rocks and is warm, with the tube in the GB.

I voted for the 8" ext cab. I'm a big proponent of matching speaker sizes, and from your description I get the impression that two of these will be perfect for the output and sound you're after. Good luck.

If you like the 8, stick with it

I have a Shuttle 6.0 and a pair of the 12T cabs. Either one sounds great, but together they really stomp. If you want real portability, consider going with a matched pair of the 12T speakers...and sell the 8.
