Genz Benz Shuttle max 6.0 Question

Sign in to disble this ad
Can the Aux (line level ) input on the back of a Shuttle Max 6.0 be used as a bass input. Can I plug 1 bass into the front input, and and another into the Aux In on the back (top right) of the head? I would love to be able to plug in 2 basses simultaneously. I know an A/B box is always an option but any help would be stellar!!

Probably won't work as you would want.

The aux in is a line level input with a lower input impedance (about 10k compared with >500k at the instrument in) and the aux in does not pass through any eq por filters, only the master volume control.

I suggest that an A/B box would probably be a better choice.

an ab box with an eq on one channel would be an even better choice. unless your basses are set up to be identical or they work well with the same eq, you'll probably need to do a little tweaking on the second bass.

On the Max, you could set one channel up for one bass and the other channel up for the other bass so you switch channels and switch the A/B box when changing bass.

Thank you fellas! A/B box it is! That is the one feature I miss on my LMK; being able to plug in 2 basses to seperate channels simultaneously. It is a great way to hear the relative tonal and volume balance between 2 different basses. The A/B box will acheive the same ends and I can EQ 1 bass on the Tube channel, and 1 on the FET channel. Any advice rgarding an A/B box that is a true bypass?
