Genz-Benz ShuttleMax 12.0 Feet

Sign in to disble this ad
When I rackmounted my ShuttleMax, I found I had to remove the little plastic feet in order to fit everything into my rack (it was exactly the size I needed and couldn't spare a space). So now that I'm abandoning the rack in favor of pedals, I find that those feet don't want to go back in, and even if they did, two of the four are damaged such that I wouldn't trust them to stay long-term.

Also, I think I'd like something more... rubber and less plastic. I know somewhere in the past I've seen rubber feet where the bit that goes in the hole expands as you tighten a screw, essentially "squeezing" itself tight. Can anyone identify this (I suppose it could be my imagination, but I doubt it). Also, does anyone see any pitfalls to this approach? I note that I can actually see some wiring through the rear-left hole so... caution is my watch-word here I'm thinking.

Any thoughts/advice welcome. Thanks in advance!

The feet on your amp use a blind rivet fastening system, they are ment to be removed and reinstalled quickly and easily. In the center of the foot is a black plastic domed rivet head. With a small screwdriver, lift this head up about 1/4" and the foot will then pop off. To reinstall, the rivet head must be in the out position, push the foot retainer into the hole and then push down on the rivet to set the foot. All in all it takes about 10 seconds per foot to install.

If your feet were damaged because they were pried out of the chassis, give Jeff a call at the factory and he will get you hooked up with some new ones.

this is EXACTLY the question that's been rattling around in my head this morning. I just got a shuttlemax and i want the feet off, but the rivet thing had me a bit perplexed. If i hadn't read this I probably would have ended up accidentally destroying the feet with pliers or something.

Talkbass is an informational miracle
