Genz Benz ShuttleMAX 12.0: I really want one!!!

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey folks... I've been looking at one of these amps for the longest time now. Any ShuttleMAX 12.0 owners out there who can give me some insight and experience with theirs. How does it do live??? In the studio? Different genres of music. I play primarily gospel music and is wondering if this amp would be good for me. I just finally played a 6.0 and it was great!!! A great low-mid tone, which I need doing gospel music. I'm not afraid to do a micro amp because I used to own a GK MB2-500. Its great, ridiculously loud amp but sold it due to lack of warmth. Trying to get as much info on it before I take that step though.

My shuttle 12 gets used in many different settings. All genres of music... It can do warn and it can also be articulate thanks to the dual band semi Para EQ per channel... You have FET and Tube channels real easy to set up and just go..
I wont try to talk you into getting one, but there are a few threads on this amp... But by your description is sounds like it may meet your criteria..
If you like the 6.0 you will love the 12.0 Just my opinion..

cabs?

Depending on what cab or cabs you want to drive, you might also consider the 9.0 shuttle. One large 4 ohm, I would pick 9.0. Two cabs needing 500-600 watts at 4 ohms or 2 8ohm at 350 ea I believe, then shuttlemax 12. IMHO

i have a shuttle 12. i only used it to drive one 4 ohm 2x12 cab. for me the small price difference between the 12 and the 9 helped my decision to get the 12. the ability to add another 4 ohm cab was important to me and though i only did it a few times it was worth it for me. i primarily used the tube channel for a warm tone with just a touch of grit when i really dug in. oh it comes with an excellent footswitch too, allowing you to switch between channels or even run both at the same time. the DI is also excellent on my shuttle, dead quiet every time ive used it (recordings and live)

The Max12.0 is a very versatile head capable of any tone you need (except bad). I racked mine. Using it with the footswitch is killer. either channel or blended. I can't wait to play with that with the new Stingray5 Fretless with piezo bridge. Should smoke.

I can tell you Dennis it does! The Stingray 5 and a ShuttleMAX 12 is a killer combination. I've been using it for the past year.

You'll love it.
