I owned the Shuttle Max 12.0

Freakin Awesome amp. No complaints from me at all abut the Shuttle Max Amps.

I currently own the Shuttle 9.0 and Streamliner 900.

You can't go wrong with a Genz Benz however you go.

All I can say about this head is WOW!!! I was finally able to use it with the full band after a grueling 3 day wait. I was using one SWR Goliath III 8 ohm cab and my Peavey TL-6. I was able to have the eQ almost flat and got every sound that I needed. I had the gain on the tube channel maxed for a bit of SVT style OD. The footswitch is really the key to this amp, it allows you to sculpt your sound so easily. I went from crystal clear hi-fi, to SVT OD, to classic 70-80's tone, just by using the footswitch. The mix button is really good for those times when you need boost in volume. The amp stayed totally cool, it did not heat up at all. The master volume was barely off of 1 (7 o'clock) and was plenty. The gain and pre-amp volumes were at 12 o'clock and I have plenty of volume, and that's only at 8 ohms. I can't imagine how this little jewel will sound with 2 cabs at 4 ohms. The only use that I have for my pedalboard now is my chorus effect.

This is an incredible head. If you are on the fencem don't hesitate to give it a try. I have used SVT4Pro's, various SWR's, Trace Elliot, Eden's, and tried Markbass...The ShuttleMax 9.2 gave me tones with the footswitch that each of these amps deliver. It's like have multiple amps in one 7 lb package. I'm sold on Genz-Benz.

Man, I must be playing really loud...lol...I think I have gain and pre volume on the FET channel set noon and 2 o'clock respectively, and on the tube channel set about 3 oclock (gain) and noon (pre volume)...something like that anyways...I noodle with it all the time...and the master set about 3 oclock...and I typically run a 4ohm load...

Note that I use the volume on my bass a lot...and I play with two guitar players using Mesa amps...we can get loud...

One cool aesthetic detail feature about the 9.2 is that the knobs are aluminum. Yeah, it's just a knob, but to me the little things mean alot. You don't see knobs like that on anything these day.

I really like that the pots are notched as well. Makes recalling a setting easier.

Rack mounted my 9.2 today. Looks sweet.

I can't decide if I want to rack mount it or keep it in a case...

Seems a shame to rack mount a micro amp but I need the protection. All our band gear goes in a trailer and is not always handled gently. Plus my wireless is rack mounted and I like not having to wire everything up every gig.

I racked up my 9.2 to protect it while being moved around as well.

I've got a hard medical supply case, similar to a Pelican, that the 9.2 fits in perfectly.

As far as the cabs, never played the Uber Series, but my Goliath III's were like to voice of God with this head. I am curious to try them...

I was offered the "Uber Stack" when it first came out (after it sat in the store for a prescribed amount of time) for a ridiculous price. I didn't take it as I NEVER need that much rig, but it is sweet. My little 3.0-10T combo does just fine for me.

I love the FET channel, hence my use of the 3.0. I have debated a Max 6 and an uber quad or 410, but I just don't need it for enough gigs to justify it. Will always recommend anything that says Genz Benz on it.

I pair my shuttlemax 12 With 2 Aguilar sl410s. Maxizing both the 2 600 watt channels and the 2 1200 watt cabs. Perfection!

To all the 9.2 users and actual A/B'ers, does this amp really sound like the 9.0? I know that it is marketed as the next version of the 9.0 but do you really know the comparison(not those of you who have never heard it)?

I have been fortunate enough to have owned a 3.0, 6.0. 9.0, and a SM9.2. The tube channel on the SM9.2 sounds, to me, very much like the 9.0. The high-gain switch, along with the 2 parametric EQ's, gives you some tonal options that are more that you can get out of the 9.0, though. The FET channel is as clean as can be. This is the most versatile amp I have owned in the 20+ years I have been playing.

I own the GB 9.2 and have played through the 9.0 on several occasions and while I haven't been able to perform a side by side comparrison, the tube channel of the 9.2 sounds pretty much the same as the 9.0 to my ears. Really the only difference would be the addition of the low mid semi-parametric controls and the new technology power amp section, which in my optinion is an improvement.
Add the extra FET channel and the ability to blend the tube/FET channels I'd say GB made a good thing even better!

BUT
I agree with many that the definition of the Shuttlemax would be better for my backline tone live.
I cut my lows to 9 oclock on the Streamliner with my mid freq at 2.5K. Have to EQ extreme settings

I'd be tempted to swap out for a Shuttlemax 9.2 even though I know I love the tone of my Streamliner more when I'm kicking at home.
