Nothing wrong with that at all

I like having both but the Shuttlemax 12.0 is on the selling block on CL now but I could pull it back anytime.

Played a fairly large outdoor festival last Friday with my Shuttlemax. As soon as I finished sound checking the sound man said "great tone man" We were playing on a large stage with a 9 piece band and my amp barely broke a sweat. Turned it up to 10 o'clock which is the loudest I have played it. Very happy with this amp!

To be honest, I haven't done a really good 1200/9.2 bake-off comparsion yet...I have talked about doing it, and will try to start that this week. It will be interesting to hear how the parametric mids section of the 9.2 differs from the 3-stage mids of the 1200...and to compare overall perceived volume at similar volume levels (through the same test cabinets...(ie I'll probably try this through an Uber 410 and a NEOX 212T, and possibly a couple of aggie 8ohm 210's).
Yeah, that would be VERY cool!

Interested in the Uber / Neox comparison as well (I PM'ed KsPiNeSh regarding his take on those two cabs recently -- thanks, KsPiNeSh).

Here was my set up at my current recording sessions. I am laying down basslines at Stephen Jenkin's (Third Eye Blind) home studio. I am currently running the Ampeg b15n for the bass, the Blackstar for the gain stage, and THE Shuttle MAx as the D.I. Its is a massive gritty and greasy tone. Everyone at the studio lives it. Just thought I would share a really cool and successful application of this amp. And BTW, We have a limitless amp and outboard gear inventory you wouldn't believe.... and the producer loves this D.I. so much we haven't touched the Reddi.

Agree that the DI on the ShuttleMAX records really well! This feature came as an unexpected surprise to me when I took it into a friend's studio to cut tracks. Typically, I would have brought my old rack from the 90's in order to use the preamp from an old SM-400 that records really well. But the GB was already in the truck, so I used it. Now that is the only preamp I have been using for recording and live.

My ShuttleMAX 6.0 is still doing the job and sounding great! But has anyone blown one up yet? I have been playing this amp pretty hard lately and would like to get a 9.2, but the money is just not happening for me lately. Bringing a bigger cab makes a lot of difference, so I ordered another LDS to stack.

I don't think that I've ever heard of any GB head "blowing up" in the loud pop/plume of smoke sense.

After extensive A/B trials I have changed my mind & went with the Shuttlemax 12.0 for the 1st gig over the Streamliner 900

Why? I set my Bongo HHp 5 string to sound great through the PA which is really very minimal EQ changes... with those settings the Shuttlemax 12.0 seemed to be able to do more with it for my backline tone. Sure I could get the Streamliner to be versatile or less muddy in the mix but it took very extreme settings. Lows below 8, mids 2.5K boosted past 3, treble below 8 as well. Once its there though you have no more flexibility while I can get that tone with the Shuttlemax with very little EQ changes leaving more to turn man.

Not knowing the acoustics of the room I have my FET & Tube channel set opposite (lows boosted & low mids cut) and the reverse for the other. I'll choose channels on when I get there & use tone shaper buttons to adjust quickly again.

I'm just a guy that likes clarity in my backline to hear my notes, not get lost in the mix. The house is setting up the best tone for the PA to the crowd. Its kinda hard to dial out that mid range & upper mid range warmth of the Streamliner. I also feel that if I need warmth there the Shuttlemax can get it (Not as well as the Streamliner though)

Gig report to follow & depending on my settings and comfort I may try the Streamliner 900 anyway & compare.

Can i run the VT pedal through the effects loop on one channel and blend it with the clean un affected tone from the other?

I would like to hear more about the Shuttlemax 9.2. I just got a good deal on one that I found on the internet. I liked what I have heard so far, and I like the fact that there are many ways to mix and dial in your tone with this amp.

Yes - each preamp channel has its own independent loop, and there is also a master loop if you wanted to go that route.

I did some hired gun recording last year. I used the DI of my 9.0 and the engineer loved it.

I had another unsolicited compliment from a great sound engineer here in Denver! He came up on the first break and asked what kind of head I had that was giving him such a great send to the mains! The GB ShuttleMAX 6.0 does it again! I have had this head for 20 months now and still get totally stoked to crank it up! Also, Don and LDS built the cabs I am using. I have a 4x8 and a 1x15 with Eminince speakers. The DELTA-15LFA has great tone, was much less pricey than the Neo, and is a great compliment for the long-throw 8's.

I can't say enough good stuff about the GB head. It also sounds great on the Ampeg classic 8x10 at the practice studio.

Yeah the DI on ShuttleMax is great. Very clean and punchy. Perfect for FoH. I have been getting a lot of compliments on my tone. Still surprised these amps don't get more love.

I'm getting a MAX 9.2…. I'll be able to give it some love in the next few days!
(selling the Shuttle 9.0 which I've been loving a lot).

GB's been doing an outstanding job on creating small, especially light and powerful gear!

Thank you GB!

I'm sure I'll love it! Everything GB has put on the market in the last years is just great!

I guess the deal is that the trend is all about micro amps right now, and many players think the MAX's are not, but the weight is!

I'm pretty sure I would be using the FET channel the most…
