I'm pretty sure I would be using the FET channel the most…

I sold my 12.0 but I'm strongly considering another one... probably a 9.2

Not so with the Genz amps.. I feel 100% confident that it is faithful and accurate and quiet!
I have received many unsolicited compliments on the sound quality of the DI on these GB amps ..My Streamliner and Shuttle and the GBE1200.. Quote:

| | | | Absolutely great DI.
I cut some tracks last year at a studio in Atlanta and used my Shuttle 9.0 for the DI. I did not use a cab at all. The Engineer was blown away with how good/transparent/quiet the DI sounded.

| | | | Buy ShuttleMAX! I have a bunch of gear and, after almost two years, I still use the Shuttle MAX for everything. I put a diffent tube in the tube channel that I really like. It is a Mesa Boogie 12AX7 (ECC83? I think) that adds great character to the tube channel. Lately, I am using the FET channel as a clean boost by combining channels for soloing.
I can's say enough good things about the GB. It is fantastic. |

It's so veratile and being able to blend the two channels is so awsome. It removes the need for a blender when using effects/od. I can't think of anything that I would change about it. I've never even opened my floorboard for it but, I've seen others and it's well built. |

My ONLY complaint is with the footswitch---I really, really wish it had a removeable cable. I have mine mounted to my pedalboard, and it would be nice to be able to remove the cable. Oh well, sort of a minor gripe, I guess.

It should be easy

I've been using the FET channel only and compared to the 9.0 the MAX is smoother and somehow punchier (?)… it seems to me that the 9.2 has better definition….. maybe it's an illusion, but that's my perception of it.
Definitely the 9.2 is way less grindy than the 9.0.
My only "critic" is on the NEOX212T, the lows and mids are very good, clean and thick, but I'd like the highs a little more extended/open and sizzling….
Overall I'm very happy with my setup.

I don't really go for a distorted, tube sound at all, but I'm wondering just what blending the two channels will give me as far as a clean tones go. Those of you who blend the channels, what suggestions do you have ?

I've had the Shuttlemax 6.0 for about a month now, and maybe I'm still in the honeymoon period, but I feel I've never been so happy with an amp. |

The only thing I might do is drive the tube a little bit to get some edge, but, other than that, I don't see the advantage for me.

What are you 9.2 owners using for a bag ? I know it can be rackmounted, but it seems kinda crazy to do this with the fan on the side instead of in the back.

| | | | Laptop bags work really well with the Shuttle amps. Good protection and you can find them for cheap money at yard sales and consignment shops, usually
$5-$10.

| | | | I struggled making the choice between a Streamliner and ShuttleMax. I ended up going with the ShuttleMax 9.2 because the clear tones were more familiar to me, closer to my Eden than the Streamliner, and I figured the more flexible EQ options, with the paras and two channels, would help me dial more things in.
I've played 4 gigs and 3 rehearsals with it, gigs with my 212 UB cabinet, and it has worked really well in all situations but one, and I have to chalk that up to my inexperience. But I think I really fell in love with it after hearing DI recordings of it for the first time last night on a nicely mixed soundboard of our gig. Wow! What a great DI tone, very dimensional, chunky, but also punchy and articulate. Some higher notes on some songs, that can get lost/burried with the Eden or Mesa M2000 sat right in the mix with the Genz's DI. Effect tones were also better- richer and warmer but also more articulate. The Boss flanger never sounded so good. The treble boost is killer for getting effects to pop out a bit. So I'm pretty stoked with my ShuttleMax purchase right now.
