Same here. I sold my Shuttle Max 12.0 because I needed more power (at the time) at 8 ohms. Now I've got a 4 ohm cab and the 9.0 is perfect, but maybe in the future if I had two cabs a Max would be handy. And I loved the EQ options. Grrr....

So, a Shuttle Max 6.0 but with the power of the 9.0? That would be cool. I had a Max 12 but the power/4 ohm/8 ohm thing was an issue. A 500 watt @ 8 ohm Max head would be sweet.

I think that the new ShuttleMAX 9 and the new Streamliner series will be huge hits this years.. Perfect tone pallets in just the right power range for most people gigs... really looking to seeing these in person at NAMM

My guess (and hope) is that the ShuttleMax 9.0 is two Shuttle 9.0 power amps and they just broke with their naming convention.

We'll see. My guess is it's the 9 with the added FET pre and eq of the Max series. I don't see much need for twice the power of the 9, which would also goose the price a bit more.
If it's 2 9s I'm not very interested, but might want a true 9 Max. Hope it's black.

I'd expect the same form factor as the ShuttleMAX 6.0, but with the 9.0 power module. Probably the most straightforward move from a production standpoint.

My guess as well. That would be pretty cool.

The thing I'm most curious about is the tone difference between the SM9 and the Streamliner. I'll never need 1800W or probably 900W, so either one of those would suit me fine, depending on my tonal favorite.

I was switching around a bit between my 12 and 9 last night.

To my ears there is something about the 9 FRONT end that really works, and I can not duplicate that tone with anything I have found on the 12. Settings on the 9 are mostly flat with a one detente cut on the mids at the noon freq position. I can not find that same tone in the 12. So, I am somewhat curious as to whether a Max 9 is going to have the power of the 9 in a single channel, but the tone of the 12? For me, the 12 has no lack of power. The 9 just has magic in the lower mids that make it really work. I can not find that same sound in the 12. Not that the 12 sounds bad; just that it does not have that pudding thick lower mid thing going on.

I'm waiting to see what the Streamliner sounds like, but may just end up using 2 x 9.0 for the two 4 ohm cab solutions. Life is tough.

OTOH, GB keeps surprising us in good ways; so, we'll see.

Try setting the low mids around 200-220 hz and give it a bump. That usually works for me with the Uber cabs!!

Yup, tried that precisely.

In fairness, I was putting them into a Schro BMF1212, which may have one of the most unforgiving/difficult lower mid characters I've ever experienced. In fact, the 9 is about the only amp that makes it sound somewhat "balanced." That cab just does not want to give out the lows.

to answer on question above: the ShuttleMax 9 needs a min. load of 4 ohms.

Here's a pic.
