SVT for me...

I really enjoyed my STM-900 with my 4ohm, TB153 and P5 bass. I also use the SVT settings but I do bump the bass knob up to about 10:00. My TB153 cab is sick and with seven other cabs haven't rushed to take it in for repairs. I think its just the original (older) xover went bad.

Guess I'll take cab in next week, really missing that setup. I installed 4" rubber casters on my TB cab. It moves like its floating now.

I'm going to gig my SL 900 this weekend. Used my Shuttle 9.0 for rehearsal this week, curious about the A/B result against the SL.

Amazon just dropped the STM-900 to 712$- Somewhat bummed since I thought I was getting a steal when I got the 600 through them for the same price last week. Says 9 in stock at the moment.

New stm-900 owner question - all seems to be working and sounding fine, but I can only see the tube on far left glowing...that normal? Thanks!

Yep. Some tube types let more of the glow peek out, than others. If you took the lid off to get a better viewing angle, you'd be able to see that all the heaters are lit.

Thus, the blue LEDs.

I dont see that as a reasonable conclusion at all.. if you monitor Amazon's prices, or any other large scale online retailer for that matter there are frequent random swings in a products price for no apparant reason..
An example would be GC dropping their price on the TC BG250 from $399 to $339 then 30 days later, back to $399.

Regardless, the opportunity to pickup a streamliner at close to used prices was irresistible!

I'm loving my SL900. Working on finding a cab for it to handle the extra power (which I sometimes need).

I used 2x Neox112's with mine and loved it. Just got an Uber 115-havent gigged it yet but living room tests side by side with the 2 112's have been positive. Big sound and handles the SL 900 with ease.

I've been talking with Ernie a little about the GB NEO possibilities. My concern is that I don't want to burn it up/max it out at its 600W rating. Also looking at 900w+ cabs, as there are many times when I need more than what might be safe (at least in my mind) for the NEO, so it is something to consider. I couldn't afford to kill it, and I don't have a spare cab. What say ye, the Talk Bass Freak Jury? Can you weigh in on that?

If a cab is rated at 600W RMS, then unless you are running an amp on "10" all night long, you can generally easily get away with running an amp that has 900W-1000W on tap. Of course, you'll never need all that power, but having the headroom up your sleeve is handy. RMS is an "average" rating, not a maximum rating.
