I'm looking at a used Uber 212 and so I don't really have a used Uber 410 option, so I'm looking at just comparing the Uber 212 to the Eden 410XLT.
Gotcha! Overall, the Uber 212 is very pleasant in an old school meets new school kinda way, but really, I just couldn't get it to cut through the way I'd like, and while the cab seems kinda tubby when you first fire it up, it's more low mids than lows, so I just could never dial it in perfectly...I did at least 100 gigs on it, btw, so I'd like to think I put it thru its paces

MANY folks will disagree regarding the XLT 410, but to me they are the sonic equivalent to watching paint dry...I've owned an XLT 410 and two XLT 210's and for the life of me could not get excited about them. Blurry lows, cardboard- like mids and scratchy highs...I just don't get those things at all

If you really feel like you gotta snap something up right now off CL, then the Uber 212 is the way to go...personally, I'd take a breath and make sure you get the perfect cab for your needs.

All the best in your search!

Sorry, what do you mean by "tubby"?

Duke, what kind of music do you play and what was the configuration of your band, i.e. number of guitars, loud drummer, etc? I'm just wondering why you didn't cut through while others with this cab do.

Good point! My main touring band is very loud and I play upright bass, so that makes it a bit different off the bat. Loud electric guitar, blues harp and a double kick drummer.

In other gigs I could hear it...I guess that's the point, it's not that I couldn't hear it, it's that I couldn't get the sound I wanted to hear, if that makes sense . On the low to medium volume gigs, I could hear myself just fine...really I just don't think it was ideal for upright more than anything

I'm going to look at the Uber 212 tomorrow and try it out. Ironically, the Uber 410 also showed up for sale on my local craigslist. Since my nature requires me to research the hell out of things, I started searching for 410 vs 212 comparisons. But it basically comes down to subjective opinions and the old "go try it out and see how it sounds". But really, even if I do that, I won't know which one is better until I hear both of them in a mix, right? Which means I'm actually contemplating on buying them both and trying them both out and then selling the one I don't need.

So with regard to 410 vs. 212, and specifically this cab, is there a benefit with the 212 over the 410 with regard to comb filtering (which I never knew about until today)? Is this a significant enough of an issue to be concerned with and sway me one way or the other? I know two 210's might be a better way to go and stack them but there aren't any for sale, the cost of two of those compared to the others is higher, and that requires two trips when loading/unloading.

Also will I be ok with a 225 watt tube amp powering these?

I would think so. The Uber212 will most likely seem the loudest and fullest at low volume, but both cabs can take a beating.

I couldn't decide between them either, at the time, so I just got both

It's looking like it's headed in that direction too!

I was having a really hard time deciding between the 212 and the 410 but I had to make a decision. Drumroll........

I got both! I figured I'm not going to really be able to tell which one I prefer until they are in the mix and I figured I could sell the one I don't want to keep. Unless, of course, I convince myself that I want to keep both.

I also own an Uber stack. Instead of selling your cabs sell your head and get a shuttlemax 12.0

Well, I'm probably not going to actually ever need two cabs unless I do some outdoor gigs. But that could happen and it is tempting to keep both of these. I somehow have to justify it in my mind though.

I only use my full stack a couple times a year. It does sound awesome though.

I could use a Modulus to go with the setup!

Congrats!!!

Just for grins, try stacking the 410 on the bottom and the 212 on top...I got better results at my gigs that way

Interesting. That's how I had it and then I thought to myself, that's not the way it's supposed to go and changed it. I always figured the bigger speakers go on the bottom. Why the 12's on top?

There's some great threads about this very subject if you poke around...basically, looks can be deceiving. The Uber 410 has more solid low lows than the Uber 212 which is more about low mids...Your experience could be totally different than mine, but I was getting some fartout and not enough depth, so another TB'r recommended I flip em and he was right...better low end and articulation from that combo, for my uses. I haven't used my Uber cabs in over a year, but I probably did 150 gigs or so with that stack, and every time I experimented, the 212 sounded better on top, to me...One caveat. You mentioned you'll probably not use them together much and to me that's a good thing. I think both of those cabs are pretty great on their own, but not ideal together for me...Plan A would be to figure out which one you like best and get a second one just like it for the best full stack. I wound up keeping both because they each have a different vibe that worked great for certain uses.

All of this should be taken with a grain of salt as I mostly play loud upright, so it's a different set of needs...these days 2-3 way cabs are what I use for that...

Good luck deciding which is your favorite! They're both really good cabs, but in different ways

I havn't noticed much difference in the way I stack the cabs. I usually put the 212 on top because it is lighter.
