Genz Uber212. $500? good deal?

I have a shot at a used Uber 212. a couple of very minor scuffs, guy gave it a 9/10 rating.

I looked up the regular price, $1039? Does that sound right?

Seems like a deal, I'm waiting on shipping/tax costs to decide.

I'm looking for one single cabinet that can rock the house. I had and LOVED the neox-212T...Have a budget of $500ish max and I can't find many used of either type.

Can I go wrong?

$565.00 shipped and taxed. Man, I can't decide. These babies are probably always going to be very rare used. I could always resell it if I had to? I'm sure some nice TB maniac would want one used.

Are new ones really over $1K? Wow, seems crazy for two 12" speakers.

Are these made in the USA?

Got it. After thinking about it, that's one heck of a nice cabinet for $565.00. Now I must unveil the source - Guitar Center! If anyone wants to have some fun for an hour or so, go to the gc website, go to the used tab, and type in "bass amp".

35+ pages of really cool bass amps, and frankly, the prices are extrememly fair.

There were several really cool amps and cabinets.

Seriously, $499 for a like new Uber 212?

I'm happy.

Now I have to save some money and get a nice Streamliner 600! That would be so cool.

You what cracks me up? I believe GC generally pays around 1/2 of what the selling price is for used gear. An employee told me that, he said roughly...sometimes they'll do a bit more if they know it's desirable and will move fast.

So for the poor person who sold it or traded it in, he might have gotten $250-$300 for the thing. Ouch.

They had a beautiful full-maple neck/body Peavey US Cirrus 5 string, $599.00. I called to grab it, and I was too late.

They had a mint Peavey Foundation 4 string, red with maple neck. No rust on the screws, really classic design. $59!! Right here in my Chicago store. Called, and it was being boxed up as I was calling.

So scour that site if you are like me, and love used gear.
