I heard Fender bought the rights to Airplane movie quotes so they could shut down this thread.

I know a lot of you Genz Benz users are worried because Fender is now in control but let me assure you there is absolutely positively no way we are going to shut Genz Benz down!

Well it's all settled now - the groundhog didn't see his shadow so we don't get 6 more years of GB .

Well.
I heard Fender Corporate Shills were seen having breakfast with The Groundhogs Legal Team, and some guys from Magic Images and Light's production company.

I think it's probably gonna come out that the groundhog's coming out was shot in Area 51.

I miss their look, their sound, their little laugh, their star grounding.

Just got this email from Bass Specilaties, passing it along FWIW:

Ciao Bassisti
there seems to be some rumors going around out there amongst the various bass forums about impending demise of GENZ-BENZ
while I have yet to receive a definitive answer from my inside sales rep, here’s what I do know:
- yes, Fender does own GENZ BENZ: about 4 years ago, Fender purchased Kaman Music, which owned GENZ at the time –
- up until recently, Fender has pretty much allowed GENZ to do their own thing, but I was informed in mid-January that GENZ was being relocated from Arizona to the Fender HQ in California
- GENZ did not have a presence at NAMM in January, and us dealers have no new product information to share
- in light of all this, there has been some significant price reductions throughout the product line – if you are considering a purchase of any new gear from GENZ BENZ, no is the time to take advantage of some great pricing – give me a call if interested!

thnx

Thanks Fender! Arizona unemployment rates were going down, glad you saved us from that one. Whew.

I was out of town for almost a week.
Is there really no new news?

The Agency nor NSA are able to keep secrets this well...

Could this be the work of Leo and Elvis, teamed up to cause bass mayhem?

Hmm....

"some significant price reductions throughout the product line"

The beginning of the "fire sales"? I hope not.

Well I'm hoping for the best on this, but there does seem to be something up. I guess we'll find out everything soon enough. In the meantime, the amps are still for sale so that's what should really matter to everyone.
