Getting an Aguilar Endorsement

First off, is the amp forum even the right place for this post? If not then maybe an admin can move it.

I am interested in what is required to become endorsed by Aguilar amps and what does an endorsement get you. I assume that there are several tiers and that I would fit into a lower tear.

I LOVE the DB750. And when on a west coast tour I had a person come up almost ever night and tell me that I had the best bass tone they have ever hear. Which I feel means a lot since most people don't seem to even realize what a bass player does in a Pop/rock band.

Anyway, I would love to round out the rig with a matching 4x12 but can't justify shelling out the cash when my Ampeg 810 is doing its job.

Also, I know a lot of amp companies help their artist by sometimes providing back line amps and cabs when playing one off shows, festivals n' stuff.

That would be very awesome since we got accepted to play the Heart of Texas Rockfest at SXSW this year and we have to fly in. I know that it is probably too soon to get Aguilar's help for SXSW but in the future I would love (and I'm sure they would love me) to be playing there amp.

Isn't there an Aguilar rep on the TB forums? Maybe he (or she) could help me the best

One thing I'd like to point out. Aguilar doesn't endorse you, you endorse Aguilar and they maybe give you freebies. How to do it? No idea. Send Dave B. a PM perhaps? Or email Aguilar directly?

I'd send an email to "Artist Relations", address is on Aggie's site: http://www.aguilaramp.com/email_phone.htm , and just ask them what is required. Usually it involves sending them a press packet and web links demonstrating that you are a touring band that has a large fan base and gets a lot of visibility.

Exar's business is on hold for now. I will still help previous customers.

I just pm'ed Dave. Thanks for the info.

I hope that I didn't imply that I want or expect freebies. Discount/accommodation was more what I was curious about and if they offer backline amps at major festivals for their artists.

I'm sure that Dave will help me out

Dave Boonshoft is definitely "the man" at Aguilar for everything..... nice guy, incredibly helpful, thoughtful and insightful.

He might not tell you want you want to hear, but he will definitely engage you with any questions regarding his company and products.
