Getting the best out of sessionbass head

Sign in to disble this ad
Ok, well I acquired this head about a week ago. All I know about it is that it's 200watts and has 2 jacks on the back. First thing, is it 200 watts out of each jack or just 100 watts? I guess I should include that it's a 4 ohm head. Now, I have a 2x15 stack with jbl drivers ( not sure what the model is, but the magnets are massive) I have them connected individually to their own jack. Both speakers are 8 ohms. For this head, should I have the speakers wired to one jack? Or is connecting them to the head through both the heads jacks the same thing? Sorry for the noobish questions, I'm new to the stacks. I've always just used combo amps. Thanks for any help in advance.

If I read your post correctly you have a single cabinet w/2 speakers & each speaker is connected to it's own input jack on the back of the cabinet, so you have to use 2 speaker cables to make both speakers work, correct? If so then as long as each of those speakers is an 8 ohm speaker you can plug 1 speaker into each output on the amp because the amp's speaker outputs are wired in parallel. 2 8 ohm speakers in parallel present as a 4 ohm total load.

That is correct. Thanks! So with my head doing it that way is 100watts per speaker correct?
