yeah because we all know that no manufacturer ever does design revision or production run revisions, jesus get over it. most people naysaying only know what they read and have never played through one. i have a buddy whose ampeg SVT classic go bad on him 6 months later, like any mfg run you get good ones and you get bad ones

I have used the nuke for many band practices at a local studio. I have had no problems. I have used the same amp there for over a couple of years now and its still going strong. Many other bands/bassists also use the amp and I have not heard of any problems. This amp might just be a good one of the bunch but still I would buy this amp if it was cheap where I live. just my $0.02 on the reliability

I don't know anything about this amp, so I'm not bashing it at all. I think the 20 amp circuit theory is kinda' nuts, though. It's silly to think anyone could have a 20 amp circuit all to themselves for one amp in any venue smaller than a large theater or outdoor festival type situation, don't you think? Do you have a dedicated 20 amp outlet in your practice room?

Also, are you saying that running the amp on a 15 amp circuit could damage it? If so, how?

Well, regardless, I hope the amp works well for you. Please, though, if this thing really pumps out anywhere near the wattage it claims, protect your ears and the ears of anyone nearby.

Some fairly large venues run their whole PA system on quite a bit less power, right?

Anyway, please post your impressions once you put this thing through it's paces.

The real power specs are here. The unit weighs 43.9 lbs:

2009 Guitarist article

The 2009 Guitarist article must have had a bad cut-and-paste in the tech specs sidebar. Along with the weight, the power output and the tube reference are incorrect. Per the Bug site, there are no tubes in this thing. I would have paid $200 just for the clone valve preamp were it true...

FWIW, the IEC connector shown on the back of the amp is the 15A connector. I would think that indicates that it's designed to run on a 15A service.

I am once again in no way interested.

Are there tubes in there? Ordered this a couple days ago, and now it's slowly dawning on me that there's little to no evidence that this thing even has tubes in it

I own 2 Behringer Bass Amps for close to 5 years and I just ordered another combo amps that was on sale and I never had a problem with them. And I gig alot in 2 difference bands. My lead guitar player has a Bugera Amp and it just blows the house down. I did get my money worth with these amps.

No tubes

So the only reason you bought it was because you thought it had tubes? Classic.

Hint, contact the shipper. You can refuse the shipment.

It has "The Soul of Valves." But no valves.

I don't think so. I just checked the eq points, features, ect. It looks like they share the same Graphic EQ points but the Q in relation to the points might be different. Everything else seems to be slightly different as well.

"Trying" it would be a good idea.
The whole "Gotta have a tube in it" is silly. Try the amp, really, it may just surprise you.

well it is a couple days later, whoever got em for 208 got em, the amp went back to 523.xx and they only have 4 left...now that the price is back to normal, I'll bet they sit on those last 4 remaining units for a while.

I would expect so see some blowout sale on the last 4 sometime in the future.

Let's hope the "blowout" is a figure of speech and not an actuality!!

300 t00bey watts and 80 lbs seems worth it to me now that I got my screwy shoulder back under control (mostly). Then again, I sold an SVT and picked up a Shuttlemax because of it last year.

800 watts----lucky THAT worked. She's a big girl that Debbie.

Now....OP...best of luck with the amp, pal. Hope it works out for you.
