Gig bag for micro heads
 

This is a Targus Citygear Mini bag that I got from Office Depot for $35. It is really well made with lots of padding and pockets. The main compartment is divided so you could fit a preamp like a Fishman in there. It holds my Alembic DS5 (not pictured) and the GK and all my cords just fine, with lots of little pouches left over. Great piece of gear. Just thought I'd share in case anyone was looking for something. Great item for your gift list.

Cool! I'm using a laptop bag myself, but that's a cool bag for heads that size.

Good find! Seems to fit the MB200 just fine. I wonder, though, if it might not be a bit snug for my MB500 or other micro heads.

If you can find one of these, they are pretty solid. I picked up a clearance Rumble 350 head at GC and it came with this bag. Good padding and pockets.

Scott, my amp is actually in the smaller side of the divider in that pic. Comparing specs, that MB500 might JUST fit... I'd bring the amp to try first, though. Nominally, the interior dimensions are 10.62"x1.5"x7.52"

Yeah, I'm using a padded HP laptop bag for my Streamliner, and it's working quite well...

I have a back-pack that has been sitting in a box in my closet since I was in third grade or so... Now I use it to haul my PF-500.

Cool. Someone over on the DB side has a little kid's backback with Spongebob Squarepants on it, that is just the right size for a micro amp. I think it looks awesome.

+1 on the Gator bag. Both my Shuttle 9.0 and Streamliner have one of their own. Well made, padded...and reasonable.

Now, I put my TH500 in a retired diaper bag we used for my kids. Still has a set of silverware and sewing kit in it.

Same here. Shuttle 6 in a padded laptop bag. Two perfect exterior pockets for two speakon cables, power cable, ear plugs, pens, pencils, etc. :bassist:

I think a lot of you guys travel lighter than I do. I'm terrified of gig surprises, so I bring stuff like:

- AC testers/adapters/extensions/power bars etc.
- lights/flashlights
- batteries galore
- basic tools
- duct tape/masking tape
- every cable and audio adapter I can think of -- from 1/4" to XLR/phono/minijack etc
for starters.

If I put my micro amp in its own carry case, that's yet another separate item to carry.

If possible I like to carry 4 items:
1) bass
2) cab
3) honking-big accessories bag
4) garment bag for stage clothes

If necessary I'll bungie together any stands I'll need, as a 5th item.

So my micro-amp has to go in my big accessories/cable bag. I usually use the biggest black back pack I can find, with multiple pockets. One of the pockets will be for the head, which will be padded in any cheap way possible.

At the moment I have a Markbass F500 in a Walmart 17" laptop bag (circa $14).
I've wrapped other heads in foam or bubble wrap before stuffing in the back pack.

Don't forget the Imodium for when you just can't help eat the bar food. Been there, done that.:crying:


On the serious side, when I'm feeling like McGiver, I'll use a gym bag. I keep strings and a chorus pedal in one end pocket, Q-Tron in the other end pocket, guitar tech tools in the front pocket, chords, books, the micro head, etc. in the center pocket. Oh, the Imodium goes in the front pocket for easy access.:D

I originally bought it to hold my 1001RBII head. Now it holds my GB Shuttle head, Zoom B3 and a small wireless unit. I added a couple of padded dividers to it and it works great.

I bought it for my 1001 as well, but moved that head to a 2 space skb.

I know, you are the one who gave me the idea to get one for my RB head! I miss that head but don't miss the size and weight.

that head is "middleweight-ish."
smaller and lighter than the M9 I sold anyways.
