GK 1001RB (1!) + Ashdown MAG 410T?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello

Well Im thinking about buyin a GK 1001RB since I have a pretty good offer of about less then 500 dollars. Bear in mind this is the first version, this means its 540Watts.

And since I haven't heard good things about backline series cabs (410 BLX) I decided ashdown could be a good choice for nearly the same price (less then 500 dollars too). However, I would like to hear from the wisemen first.

As fast as possible since this offer might end.

Edit: Thanks beforehand

In that price range, you should be able to find a 1001RB-II. I definitely wouldn't say the head is bad, but I've read that the RB had issues that the RB-II does not. Theoretically, if you like GK tone, that head should work great with almost any cab.

I think the price is a bit high for that head. A new, 480 watt 700RBII can be had for $600 and sell for between $300-$400 on the TB classifieds regularly. Surely you can find a used 1001RBII for under $500 here.
