PS- I've had a 210TX and it was killer. Great sounding cab, just heavy. I'm sure the TVX are good too. I use a 1001RB-II as my main amp right now and love it! |

I run it thru my Ampeg 8X10 with one band in our storage unit, and I have an SWR 4X10 at home for mobility and jamming with other buddies. It's nice, but my cab is prolly as heavy as that Peavey. I think mine's 89 pounds.
There's an SWR Goliath III 4X10 at a Pawn shop in town that's SUPER light. I think it's probably 50 pounds. I'm about to offer a swap or try to sell mine for it. Moving around this damn 4X10 in and out of my hatchback is a pain in the ass and I'd love something lighter. Keep that in mind when you're buying. How much you're going to be moving it around. |

Trust me on this. |

And i have the 1001rb-2, I love all the versatility I get in shaping my sound whether its metal, funk, jazz, whatever. Either way, should sound nice with the Peavey i personally run through an Ampeg 4x10 classic cab so its like butter. I have tried the SWR's and they are AWESOME but the GK neo cabs allow you to bi-amp with the GK head, (i'm just not too particular on their sound) not that they're bad but I like my ampeg lows but happy hunting to you make sure to try out as much as you can before you buy!!

Like I said I've got an 8x10 for practice with one band and my 4x10 to move around. I emailed the pawn shop guy about that lighter Swr cab yesterday and I'm also looking for a 2x10 for when I jam with a couple of guys with smaller combo amps. That ease of mobility for me is key. But if it's going to sit at a dedicated place to play then mobility isn't a big factor unless you start gigging and have to move for shows as well.
All up to you. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
