GK 1001RBII issue

Recent issue cropped up on my GK. I've owned this amp for about 5 to 6 yrs, bought it new. When I pwr the unit up, I'm not getting any output to the cabinet for an intermittent time - a few minutes or so. Once I start getting output, amp operates normally - no loss of power, no loss in tone, no pops, hisses - in other words, it sounds awesome.

This problem started out of the blue. Prior, there were no issues with power, tone or noise. All pots were clean (actually were physically cleaned about 6 months ago) and operated smoothly. The cable/bass (no effect pedals inbetween) I'm using works perfectly on another rig, so any issue there seems to be eliminated.

Since the timing of the issue is intermittent, its hard to get a good read on whether anything helps the problem - but, it seems that if I boost the volume (pre) and master (post), then give the 1/4" end a couple of good raps, I start getting output. I'm not convinced that's the case, quite yet.. but, it seems to work most everytime. Also, seems like I muted input once, left the amp sitting for about 20 minutes, came back and unmuted and the output was gone again. After the above routine, it came back...

Sounds like a trip to the bench but I would like to have some good information prior to taking it. Any ideas or experience with this issue? TIA...

Maybe a problem with the FX loop jacks.
If your issue shows up again, connect Send <-> Return with a normal instrument cable -> if you get output, the jacks need some cleaning. Im most cases it's sufficient to plug the cable in / out several times.

I will try powering up with a cable in there to see if it helps. I thought about this particular problem but it would seem like output would be variable - or, would fade in and out if that were the problem.
