Unhappy GK 1001rbII persiistent problem dirty effects inputs?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi,

I had the common problem of corroded input jacks on my amp. I inserted a patch cable into the effects loop and my amp continued to work. Also, I used a cable to loosen up the corrosion by moving it in and out of the jacks. My amp worked for about a week or two.

However, eventually there was no sound when using my speakon/biamp setting on my cab but there was sound when using the cab on full range with a standard cable. Last night while playing the amp kept cutting out until I stopped using it.

Should I get someone to clean the jacks and maybe preamp connections thouroughly? This is what the GK repair tech I talked to hinted at but i wanted some other opinions.

Thanks
