GK 115MB - thank Gawd for protection circuitry (& SABDDI's)

In early December I played an outdoor gig in DC - the Winter Market. This is a stage covered by a heated tent with a big old blower piping hot air to the back. Temps were in the low 40's and going down that afternoon.

I am running unusually late that day, so I plug in the almost new GK115MB in a hurry, turn it on...and the switch light goes from red..to purple. And Nothing comes out of it. (The manual explains later that this was exactly what was supposed to happen.)

Anyway It's 10 minutes to down beat, there doesn't appear to be a better AC outlet near at hand for the amp, and I don't want to waste any more time so I ask the sound man if he can run me direct through the SABDDI. He says OK, so that's what we do. Worked fine, if a little subdued (since he couldn't run a whole lot of bass through the monitors.)

Got the 115MB home and plugged it in and the light went from red to blue and worked fine. Hate to think what the voltage on that stage would have done to any other amp.
