Not sure what the 400b is, but GK's 400rb amps are a classic, and great amps. But, speaker cabs are even more important, so anything you get will depend on those.

the 400B was an old GK amp from the 70s:

I have a late 80s 400RB and it's a terrific amp, use it for my DB as well as rehearsal rig.

I don’t know anything about the GK 400B except it was introduced in 1975.

“1975: The GK 400B is the first bass amp with Contour control.”

great old GK

I had the 400B for 18 years, then lent it to a GUITAR PLAYER (friend of mine) who gigged with it for 10 years, then sold it to another Bassplayer, who had a choice between it and a SWR head and picked the 400B because it still kicked ass.

Great amp. Wish I kept it. By the way, the guitar player’s tone through the 400B was amazing. He had pedals and ran it into a 4x12 guitar cab and it held its own against a Mesa Boogie full stack.
