GK 410 SBX speaker question

Sign in to disble this ad
How do you get to the speakers to remove them? I assume you have to take the grill off. How?

I'm just got this cab last night for 75 bucks on cl. It has a speaker that sounds like it may be blown. Not sure if it is or not cause I can't get to it. Any help would be appreciated. I'm praying the speaker issue is a cheap fix.

There are little tabs that mount the grill to the box at each corner of the grill. You can get to them through the grill with a phillips screw driver, its easy. Is it a regular SBX or an SBX plus? I have an SBX plus and its a great cab.

It's an SBX plus. Yeah, I've heard good things about em and they look tough as hell. Sucks that that I'm having speaker issues but if I get it figured out I'll have landed a nice cab for not much money. What head do you use with yours?

Thanks for the info on removing the grill Can't wait to get this thing working!

It's a 32 ohm driver is the impedence on the speaker jack says 8 ohm. Here is the only driver that will work with the rest of the 3 speakers...

GKs store: $100 each

Good luck!

Cool, thanks. I guess worst case scenario I'm only looking at 100 bucks for a replacement.

Are you certain that's the ONLY speaker that'll work? If so, Is there any specific reason? Thanks for your help, seriously.

32 ohm is a big reason. You want it to be 32 ohm, as well as sound the same as the other drivers.

Yeah, I saw a 32 ohm 10" 200 watt speaker somewhere that I dont think is the same brand for around 70 bucks, but I guess I would be better off just buying a matching one from the manufacturer for 30 bucks more. I might also scour the local pawn shops and CL and see if the same cab turns up.

Get the one from GK, you want all the same speaker in that cab. For $175 you are still getting one hell of a deal.

Im pushing mine with a GK 700rb.

I'm in business!!! Took the grill off took the top two speakers out, in the process found a screw was missing. Replaced said screw, tightened up the rest and no more buzz!!! Cab sounds terrific!!!

That's awesome! I am always finding stuff like this with used gear when I get it home. Screws are loose, wires touching baskets, air whistling out of the 1/4" sockets, fans not working, miswired cabs, cracked corners, etc. Good find!
