| GK 410SBX+ Brittle sounding?

I just recently began using my GK 410SBX+ with my 700RB-I (and sometimes stacked with my 115SBX) and for whatever reason, I get a slight hiss from the 410 accompanied by occasional pops (when I attack the bass hard, even when my clipping light doesn't go on) and a very trebly and brittle tone.
I recently replaced a speaker, did I do something wrong? What could cause these problems?
