Gk 700rb???

Anyone own the 700 rb?? Do you like it was getting 800 rb but it discontinued so looking for something just as good around the same price. Thanks in advance

They're very popular around here. I own one, as do many others. I think they're a great value and am happy with the tone and the output. If you search you'll find many other satisfied owners.

Do we talk about the 700RB or the 700RB-II? I only can tell about the 700TB-II and that is "my" Amp. Will never sell it. Clarity, Power, Punch and the Ability to Growl. A really great Amp, wich I recommend every Time.

The II. Guess i should have made that a little more clear

They are voice very similar. 700rb gives you the bi-amp woofer and tweeter controls.

I like 700s. Just watch out for that 4/5 string bass button. It adds massive boost in a frequency range that will easily damage drivers in many reflex cabs, and at power levels lower than you might imagine. But, if a 700 were my only amp, I'd be 100% satisfied. G-K's tone control scheme has always come through for me, regardless of the job I'm called for.

I honestly don't think i would have to worry about it since im going to be running it with the GK neo 412

Yep, it's an awesome amp. I would be perfectly happy using on on a regular basis. All of the RB series amps sound awesome, I'd probably just avoid a few of them (700RB, 1001RB, and 2000RB) for certain reliability issues that were fixed on the II models.

If you did really want an 800RB, they are easy enough to find. I'm pretty sure there is one in the classifieds right now for a good price, and GC always seems to have a few on their used site.

Theres an 800rb at the Danbury CT G.C for $425. Wish they still had that Ampeg 810 for $400 !

bassgod0dmw 02-07-2013 01:50 PM

That 800RB has been there for a LONG time (like the summer), and they still haven't dropped their high price on it. If it were closer to $300 I would have bought it.

AdamR 02-07-2013 03:27 PM

Yeah I kinda thought it was high. I paid $350 for mine. Do you come to the area often ? Im about 5 minutes from the store.

I honestly like i want the 700rb II now more than the 800 was talking to he owner of our local music store and he said that for the price he can get me to 700 II I would be better off then him trying to find me the 800
