Sign in to disble this ad
I have a problem with my GK. Please help! Somtetimes it sounds like crap without any GK balls. When I looked inside I've seen this:

It looks like the coil got burned.
Is that serious?
How can I fix it?
Is there anybody who seen anything like this in GK head?

I don't agree that the coil looks burned. It's copper, which gets dark/oxidized when burned. It is just coated with some kind of epoxy to keep it from vibrating.

Describe the problem and conditions when it happens a bit more.

Suspect you may have heard that with age or dusty conditions the effects loop jacks can get a little fussy and need cleaned up.

Good luck!

+1 That coil is not burnt... That looks like new!!! I would also like lowend said get some electric cleaner in a spray can and go through and clean all you plugs and pots and some dust cleaner and just give it a good going over ....it is crazy what dust and poor connections can do to ones sounds!! best of Luck!! Cheers mate!!~Elliot
