GK 700RB Questions

Sign in to disble this ad
I've been reading the manual, and it keeps referring to the "master volume." I think it's the knob labeled "woofer" in the "bi-amp output" section. Is that right? What if I'm recording direct? Is it still the woofer knob or does the level knob in the direct out section effectively become the master volume? If I'm recording direct, does the tweeter knob do anything, or do I have to be in bi-amp mode for that knob to matter?

Also, I just got a Geddy Lee Jazz Bass with passive pickups, and the 700 RB manual says to make sure that the knobs are turned all the way up if passive pickups are being used. Is that the knobs on the guitar that need to be turned all the way up? Is it all three knobs? Should they be all the way clockwise or all the way counterclockwise?

yes the "woofer knob is the master.
the DI level control is the DI level and only control that effects DI signal when the pre/post switch is set to pre.
when the pre/post switch is set to post, the signal is effected by the 4/5string "voice switch, contour, presence, eq section, and boost, the tweeter and woofer controls DO NOT effect the DI out

Doesn't your Woofer knob say Master underneath it?

Ya, but I couldn't see it with the unit sitting at knee level on my recording studio shelves.
