GK 800RB Bi-amp mode not working

Sign in to disble this ad
GK 800RB Bi-amp mode not working when the button is depressed the low frequency speakers do not sound. Also a large amount of hiss can be heard in the "normal" position (without the bi-amp engaged) What can cause this?

Exactly what are you connecting to the amp, and how are you doing it?

I connect an 8 ohm cabinet to the high output using a speaker cable and a 4 ohm cabinet to the low output using a speaker cable. If I remove the highs speaker(cabinet) and use only the full amp mode a hiss is heard. I press the bi-amp mode no sound is made from the lows cabinet.

Hmmm. Sounds like you may have an actual problem on your hands.

I got nothing. Sorry

The GK bi-amp is a strange agent and was intended for use with a proprietary cab and bi-amp cable. The crossover itself is set at 5 khz.

The amp was repaired. It was a broken contact on the preamp board at the 1/4" boost input. This also caused that the green light doesn't stay on.
