Sign in to disble this ad
Just wondering what most people are using out there. What do you have your voice set to Low boost, Mid boost, or High boost? Treble, high-mid, low-mid, bass, frequency and boost also? I just want to hear how some other people play this beast :P

Sorry but I had to. Search 800RB in this forum and you'll find all the info you need and then some. Good luck.

I don't have the 800rb... but i have an early 80s 400rb. The knobs/boosts are set up almost the same (minus 2) as the 800rb though... just at a lower wattage (though i still run it through an 8x10 so volume ain't an issue) and still has 'that GK sound'.

I don't mess with any of the boost buttons, really. I need to try them out more though... at home i do mess with the mid-scoop one...

Anyways, i use it for 2 projects:

Power-pop band (w/ passive Peavey T20 or passive SX P/J):
Vol - to taste
Treb - noon
Hi-Mid - 3
Low-Mid - 2
Low - 1
Boost - 9ish
Master - 2ish

Heavy band (w/ active ATK300):
Vol - to taste
Treb - 2
Hi-Mid - 3
Low-Mid - 3
Low - 3
Boost - 12
Master - 3

I like mids

Are you sure you have an 800RB? Mine doesn't have either a Low boost or Mid boost.

That's an 800 then. I run mine with the Contour in (out with the fretless), the tone knobs set at 12 O'clock (which I believe is flat, thought I don't really know). Volume is at 9 O'clock, Boost at 12 O'clock, I use the Bi-amp mode, Crossover set at 11 O'clock, and the Maser Volumes to where I can hear myself.
