GK backline 210 combo

Sign in to disble this ad
so i got one of these today, it sounds GREAT. just going to need an ext cab for gigging larger venues (and to look cool of course, lol) but the previous owner put in two 8 ohm eminences to make it a 4 ohm load and get all 300 watts out of it.

question is, if i traded mt fender bxr300c for a gk 8x10 cab and re-wired it to a 16 ohm load in the combo and re-wired the 8x10 cab to an 8 ohm load (from 4) i would have a 5.333 ohm load. would i be getting just under 300 watts? and would that mess up my amp?

or should i trade/sell off the eminences for two 16 ohm drivers and get an 8 ohm load out of that and re-wire the 8x10 cab to 8 ohms for a grand total of 4 ohms?

What minence speakers did you put in it? How does it sound? Is there a noticeable volume difference?

Re wire the combo's amps speakers to 8 ohms, (if possible), and use an 8 ohm ext. A good ext cab for that amp would be a 2x10, or 1x15, NOT an 8x10, or any other large cab. Consider the balance between the 2 speaker cabs.

I am thinking about putting some Eminence speakers in my GK Backline 210. I'm not sure wat you're telling me to do.

I love my Backline 112 with its stock speaker. Don't think I'd upgrade it unless it blew

Basslite S2010s. It'll be 4 ohms, so you don't want to run an extension cab, but the Basslites are very loud speakers and work well in a small space.

I've been looking and trying to learn. I was thinking the CH2010's. Why do you recommend the s2010's?
