GK Backline 210 Hum..What is it?

Sign in to disble this ad
The amp makes no unusual noises until I plug into the fx send or the tuner jack. Then I get this sound from the amp and the output from the fx send or the tuner jack. Is this a ground loop?

Any ideas about a solution?

Thanks!

That doesn't sound like a ground loop. It sounds more like some sort of radio interference from a switching power supply or some other high frequency noise. What are you plugging into the tuner jack/ fx send?

I think I figured it out. I had the amp plugging into the wall. When I plugged into a power strip instead the noise was gone. I guess something else on the circuit was causing it and the power strip helps to block what ever it is. I recorded a little last night going from the fx send into my USB interface and it sounds great now. There is still some noise coming from the tuner jack but not the same thing and I think that might be amp related and not power supply related. Thanks!
