Starting a new age metal band, ( woe is me, a day to remember, asking Alexandria, we came as Romans, etc.....) Melodic but still super heavy at times, what head would be a better fit?

best amp for metal?

I had a B-2R and promptly sold it after obtaining a GK BL600. I just loved the tone a whole lot more and it seemed louder (or i didnt have to crank it as much). U might consider a 700RB-ii or a shuttle 6.0 for a little more kick also.

Neither. What is your budget? Check Craigslist.org for some better choices. A GK 700RB would be a great choice. The B2RE runs out of steam too fast and the Back Line Heads sound strange compared to the RB series and I do not feel they are as adjustable as the typical RB series.
