Question GK Cab choice - Bewildered - MB/MBE/NEO

Sign in to disble this ad
Looking at GK cabs... I have to admit the expansion of the product range has left me slightly confused due to the wild swing in price difference here in Europe... Having looked at various threads and reviews the varying opinions of bassists has left me more confused... For example, the new MBE cabs are dirt cheap, so are they different to say the MB combo range or the same cabs, or are the MB combos more like the Neo cabs... some places seem to the advertise the MBE cabs as having NEO speakers and other say the are ceramic... the NEO range of cabs then themselves, how are they different to the MBE cabs and the MB Combos... I kinda like the MB212 combo but I'm not sure what cab I'm getting there... can someone explain the difference

MBE match the MB combos. They contain neo drivers (except one of the 115 versions from memory) The Neo range are a step up, and great with the RB series, Fusion, and the MB500/800 amps too! MBX are the budget line, with ceramic speakers.

There is a 1x15 that has a neo driver. I have the MB115 combo and love it to death. Info, neo speakers are typically 3dB'ish more sensitive than ceramic ones, so they will be a little louder. I find my 200W combo does a lot of work for only 200W. Plus the speaker has a better tone for my taste than a regular 15. More punch than a ceramic 15, more bottom than a ceramic 2x10. I say go GK and neo all day long. Worth the money.
