GK cabs question

I've been looking at the GK series of cabs and I want to make sure I have this right.

The MBP series are made to work with the MB combos.

The MBE and NEO are made to work with any head.

That's the way that I understand it. Providing it's a Series-II MB Combo.

I just ordered a GK MB Series-II Combo with the intention of ordering a MBP to add to it in a couple of months.

1) True with series II combos as already stated.

2) Also true, the NEO series can also be used with HMS G-K "biamp" heads like the 700,1001, 2001 and Fusion 550 and the dynamic horn is controlled from the amp head. The MBE can be used with these heads but the piezo horn is only controlled by the on/off switch on the cab.

The RBH series cabs are still being made last I knew as well and are HMS cabs like the NEO's but use ceramic magnet speakers. NEO and RBH cabs have a tweeter level L-Pad for full range use so you can control the amount of horn instead of just on/off.

You can run the MBP thru a MB head using the line out/headphone jack with a 1/4 to XLR cable.

I think someone already tried and it works but, I remember RAG saying the MBP's chain input needs a +10db true balanced signal for full output.

About a month ago I sent off an email to GK to inquire about using the MB200 head with one of the new MBP-series powered cabs. The answer I got was no, the current MB200 can not be used with an MBP cab...at least not yet...till they introduce an upgraded version of it later this year.

It works with my MB800, plug it into the headphone/ chain out with the chain out switch engaged and it works great, I use to use it as a monitor for my drummer for large gigs, but have since switch to the MB112-II so he can adjust the volume.

Yep,,, I called GK and got the same answers,,,, my MB500 or MB200 will not work with an MBP cab and they can't mod the current heads.

Cheers

Will the MBP cabs work with a SansAmp Bass Driver DI as a preamp? I had this idea to pair my SansAmp (that I never turn off) with a power amp and ditch my 3Pro. Seems like these MBP cabs are just what I'm looking for.

Can't tell if you will get full output. I can't find anywhere that states the line output level? If it is +4db then the output is too weak, if it will dive at +10db line level it should work very well.
