I'm considering a GK to replace the amp I'm using now(Hartke HA2000). But, I've found two that I'm interested in. It's either a 400RB-IV or a Backline 600. Both are similar in power ratings, and I've only played the Backline, and even then, at low volumes. I play in a band(three, really). I play metal with one, R&B originals with the other, and covers with the last one. I plan on using my Peavey 2x15, as I've never really had a problem with it, so I don't see any reason to change. So, how has everyone's experiences been with each, and what should I be aware of in terms of limitations and problems?
If anyone can suggest another amp around this price and power, then that would be appreciated. I need, a minimum of 200 watts, and the amp can't cost more than $300(I'm looking for used stuff).

BTW the 400RB-IV is back in production and will replace the BL600.

| | | | If your CL is good, either of those should be able to be picked up for about $100 or so, I have the BL600 and I feel it's essentially the same; 400RB might be easier to sell to more than just people getting a new head but the value would be about the same. I think Backline just has a way of creating it's own stigma, it's a great amp.

And, I just need a little more power. I can get the HA2000 there, but it gets warm/hot. I've gotten some great sounds from this amp, and it has always worked, even with the aforementioned problem, but I wanted to change it up a little.
