GK Gallien Krueger MB Fusion Dual Speakon, 1/4" jacks??

Hey all,

Just got an MB Fusion from musician's friend, and super excited to try it but i don't have speakon cables. The manual says the speaker inputs are dual purpose 1/4", and Speakon inputs. But the holes in the center of the speakon ports are too small for a 1/4" cable! they just wont fit without me really forcing them in, and then they won't go all the way!

Anyone else had this issue?

Thanks!!

I thought the ones on mine worked fine. Mabe the jacks on your cord are slightly larger.

I have a gk mb200 and share the same dilemma. Im afraid to force the jack in due to the snug fit. Anyone care to chime in?

Both work fine on mine, which is a really great feature.

Have you tried different 1/4" cables?

The owner's manuals have not been updated. They are no longer dual purpose jacks, speakon only.

Yeah I think it's the same with the MB200. Mine is speakon only.

The reason he asked was the green are dual purpose, the black are speakon only.

The MB200's are speakon only. IIRC RAG said the change was due to certification requirements.

Yes,

Thanks everyone.. that answers the question. Bummer. I like those dual purpose speakons.. So having some older Bag End S15D cabs (1/4 and Banana jacks), I went to work and made 2 Speakon to Bananna cables with some parts i had lying around. Amp sounds fantastic!
