GK MB 115

Since I didn't see any other posts relating to this particular combo amp I thought I would post something first. Realizing that I can't get by with my 30 watt practice amp if I want to play out ANYWHERE I began looking for a suitable small combo or head and cab that 1) did not break the bank and 2) did not break my back.

The final consensus for me was the GK MB115. It had the proper combination of light weight, enough horsepower and reasonable price. I just picked it up today so the verdict is still out on it. But I am confident it will do everything I need it to.

My big rig is a MB-500 and 2 Avatar SB112 Neos, but I did buy an MB115 for the practice room and I do believe I could gig anywhere with it. The DI on mine is quiet , no unwanted noise. And I can run it with the gain at 3:00, the master at 11:00 and be heard just fine with 3 guitarists all on tubes (100+60+40) . But I will say that as a band, we do control our stage volume well and let the mains do the heavy work. If your band doesnt , you might want to try it. It improves vocals and tightness tremendously.

I am using my GK MB115 for most of my gigs and it can get very loud. My band, though, eith the exception of one guitarist, does keep the volume under control. The drummer is not a heavy hitter and the music we play, coutntry and classic rock, does not call for excessive volume.
