GK MB112 experiences with ? Please share - Thanks!

I'm considering the MB112 as a grab 'n go combo for acoustic gigs - I don't need a lot of volume - I have bigger stuff for when I need to get loud...

I run a small pedal board with tuner/mute and some form of EQ / DI. Fishman or ParaDriver depending.

I really like my MB2-500 a bunch. It does exactly what I want paired with a bare 1x10 - now I want to get that in one box - and I don't want to cut any wood to get there...

I've heard that the MB-200 might have the 'GK Boost' baked in as it were. If that is so, then it would be out of the running for me as my fav GK sounds are the crystal clear, punchy ones... This is acoustic stuff after all...

So based on your experience with the MB112, does it sound like it meets the bill for me ? Clean 'n clear ? or were they going for some 'grind' as well.

Thanks!

I have one and it sounds great with my Full Circle pickup, retired my old 200MB.
Great EQ and very clean.

Yeah it's a great little box. I've had one for a couple of weeks now and my initial impressions are: Sounds great with a J, OK with a P, needs fiddling with the upright. YMMV of course. Plenty loud for jams and I'll likely be using it for a small gig in a few weeks. I like vintage tones so I'm keen to see how it sounds with a VT bass. As a cheap "get your sound out there" light weight amp it's fantastic. Sounds no where near as good as my Walkabout + a single Aguilar DB112, but the GK combo weighs less than my Walkabout head on its own!

I think it's the best inexpensive combo amp out there. Sounds great!

I bought mine about a month ago to use for band practice. I love it. It's very light and easily cuts through and has great tone options. No problems at all with it!!

The MB112 is a nice little package. But based on your need, a good old Workingman's 10 would be another good option given your low volume requirement. Clear and punchy, built to excellent spec.
