GK MB112 Marked as New??

Sign in to disble this ad
I purchased a GK MB115 almost a year ago. At that time the GK MB112 was just coming out. Our praise band will start doing 2 gigs a week starting August 1st. I have been using the GK MB115 as a monitor in our Tuesday 12 step ministry, as we run through a system there. The church service we will be doing only has a system that is adequate for vocals and the instruments are all going to go through stand alone amps. My MB115 is more than enough to use as a stand alone at the church. Even though it is super light, I just don't want to have to transport it back and forth every week so I decided to buy the MB112 and use that as a monitor on Tuesdays.
I notice all the sites (GC, MF, 123) are all advertising the MB112 as new and say it is due to arrive August 25th!!! Now I'm assuming that they sold out of them and are waiting for a new shipment? Surely this isn't the initial production of them because it's been a year since they were supposed to come out. I know one of the GK honchos frequent this forum and wondered if I could get some clarification on this?

So this August 25th date probably doesn't mean squat! How about it Mr. Gallien? What's the scoop?

Thanks

GK does this with every new product. If you want you can come over to the GK forums and help plan the raid on their factory with us, we're going to take all the fusion 1050 prototypes.
Usually though, and luckily for GK, they make the wait well worth it.

Is there anywhere to check and get a confirmation on what's going on and when they are truly due out? It's my understanding that one of the owners (Gallien or Krueger) frequent this forum.

Krueger left the company in '95 for a position at Guitard Center. Ironic, huh?

Bob Gallien (TB username = rag) does check these forums but not everyday. He's come on here before and said an item is due in two weeks or something, but of course it never happens. Usually they say that what happens is they anticipate the amp or product to be certified for electrical safety by a certain date and then of course it doesn't happen and so they either have to make a design change or swap out components, which takes a while. GK works hard to get their amps certified in many different countries.

So the glitch is getting though customs here in the good ole USA? It's been listed on their website for almost a year!!

Not just the USA, all the other countries they ship to. Youtube "GK factory tour" and watch parts 3 and 4, this will clear it all up.

I know that this country has more red tape and hoops to jump through than most. Just look at the FDA. Their amplifiers are beasts though! I would hate to have to put up an extra 100 dollars and get another MB115 because for monitor use, the 112 is perfect and all I need. We'll see.
